The weekend

Travis and I rockin' out to a Wilco concert in Duluth on Friday. I must say even the long, quiet drives were enjoyable while I listened to Eat, Pray, Love and took turns napping with Trav while the other drove. We had an awesome sushi dinner at Hanabi Sushi in Duluth-highly recommend if you're ever there and like sushi.

Miss Kya rested most of the weekend since she was running a fever and not feeling quite her normal energetic self. It was nice to snuggle and lay with her all day for a change.

Therin lookin' like he's a pro already at rockin' out. Travis was SO impressed with how well he drummed (especially since Therin was better than him) on Rockband.

Wrestling 101

Oh yes, this would be our basement and yes, we now have a wrestling mat in our basement. I'm sure there are some purchases I've made that Travis feels the same about but I'm not going to elaborate on how that is exactly. =)

Sampling lots of new recipes

This is a Thai Pizza I tried last night.

My friend, Wendi, shares my love of cooking (and she is quite the baker too). She really motivates me to try new things and introduced me to Martha Stewart's Everyday Food magazine (I was also gifted a subscription). We have started a meal exchange where once a month I take her family a meal and on an alternate night, she delivers one to us. It works out well and provides at least one night of no cooking during the month-what a treat! Last week, I made the Larsons Soft Polenta with Carmelized Onions, Garlic and Spinach and Caramel Apple Bars both from Colorado Colore. We have been filling out a lot of recipe cards for each other! Yum!

Crafting with Cornerstone members

Cindy, Wendi, Jennifer, Kim, and Myself

Gerlyn who hosts the craft group is on the right in this pic. She has beautiful picture windows where we could overlook the valley and enjoy the sunshine while crafting.

This is what I worked on for most of the afternoon-copying Lou and Lee's headbands.

Healing well

Mornings

This morning, I noticed the sunlight streaming through the sides of the shades in my bedroom windows (I don't think I've opened the shades yet this winter because I figure they provide more insulation) so I opened them to let the rays and sun filter in. It was a good and lazy morning all around since I could ease into the day (Therin didn't go to school so he could ice his very swollen face and Kya didn't have school.) A lovely morning.

I wish this evening's news were better.......I am thinking of you Jules. I hope you are feeling better. We will make you a sign tomorrow. Much love, The Smiths
