The Annual Pumpkin Harvest with Grandpa

Grandpa Smith took the family to harvest pumpkins this year on our way home from Aunt Julie's wedding. Since the ladies weren't off Cranfesting, we even got to go! When I was looking through seed catalogs this spring, I asked Rick if he would order these "Cinderella pumpkins," as Mary refers to them, and they were by far the most successful (only) pumpkins to grow this year! Grandpa was less than impressed with the production of his regular pumpkins so he even bought a few to "plant" in the garden so as not to disappoint the kids-what a thoughtful Grandpa!!! As always, we had to snap plenty of pictures.

Aunt Julie and Uncle Josh married September 27th during a candlelight ceremony in Kohler, Wisconsin and we couldn't be happier. We have anticipated this day for many months and although our time with them was short, the weekend was perfect. They are now
en route to their honeymoon in Brazil and Happily Ever After........we love you guys!

Climbing trees

We went on a hike Friday with Natalie, Maria and Rosa. We arrived a little early so the kids marveled at the trees, climbed them and looked for homes of little critters while we waited.

Kya in her gymnastics outfit

Mondays are Kya's favorite day of the week-She has gymnastics in the morning and swimming lessons in the evening. Although, she is a natural swimmer, she gets more excited about gymnastics. This adorable leotard Granny found for her and she's gotten lots of compliments on it. Her friend, Maria ("Ramira" Kya calls her-her sister's name is Rosa-apparently she combined them?) is in the same class and she always loves to see her.

The forts/battles that Therin built

All of Therin's birthday presents have kept him (and Dad) busy, busy, busy.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Therin is holding the birthday card he made for himself. =) Only when you're 5! Well, I'm tired and need to get to bed so I can gear up for 4 wild boys tomorrow. The dirt cake is made for preschool, the boat cake is made for tomorrow night and the kitchen is currently clean and set up for the party-it will feel festive in the morning! Therin has a Diego video wrapped and waiting for him by his bed along with a few Spiderman balloons. And I've started a tradition of reading Dr. Seuss' Happy Birthday to You! on the kid's birthdays so we'll read that before school too. More pictures will follow tonight......
