SOTA Art

One of the many reasons I love SOTA: As I walk down the hall every day to pick up Therin, I love looking at the student's artwork. I love the textures, the vibrant colors and the imagination and creativity.

The banners here were made by Therin's class and repurposed in the hallway as curtains.

An Earth Day recycled sculpture, also made by Therin's class.

The other K/1 class made dragons and I just love looking at all of them.

This hallway is more inspiring and beautiful than any art museum I've been in yet. I have the students and staff to thank for that and always look forward to what they will do next.

A Big Day!

His artistic debut at a gallery!

So, today a certain someone turned 30; an uneventful day for the family as Travis worked all day, met us at the Pump House at 4:30 and was promptly paged at 5 as he's on call tonight. He didn't seem overly thrilled at his picture being posted around the hospital to inform everyone that he was in fact now 30 (He can thank the OR staff for that one). We'll celebrate tomorrow and post some pictures of the now wrinkled and haggered Old Man. Therin made Travis not 1, not 2, but 3 birthday cards; one of which he got his entire class to sign (He's such a thoughtful boy that one!). The kids were quite upset tonight that Dad did not get to open his gifts and if their rules apply "You can only open presents on your birthday or you have to wait until Christmas." I'm guessing that rule will be broken tomorrow but we'll see. (That could be a long wait for you Josh!)

Oh! On the way to the art exhibit, Therin was telling me how he could combine his two favorite loves: art and football. He could play football and when he wasn't playing, sit on the sidelines and draw. Hmmmm......draw plays?
